How We Treat

Our Treatment Programs

Three programme lengths — pick the one that fits

Effective addiction treatment isn't a one-size-fits-all thing — what works for one person may be wrong for the next. Bali Beginnings runs three programme lengths — 28, 60 and 90 days — each suited to different needs, complexity levels, and recovery goals. Every program combines clinical excellence with a setting that supports the work.

We take up to eight clients at any one time, no more — that cap is what makes the clinical care actually personal. The programmes use clinical practices that are well-established internationally, delivered in a Bali setting that genuinely helps the work along.

Why programme length actually matters

Research from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) consistently shows that treatment duration is directly linked to recovery outcomes. Longer programs allow for deeper psychological work, skill-building, and the establishment of sustainable coping mechanisms.

Evidence Insight Studies show that individuals who remain in treatment for 90+ days have significantly higher rates of sustained recovery and lower relapse rates compared to shorter programs. While 28-day programs provide excellent initial stabilisation and detoxification, extended treatment allows for comprehensive psychological healing.

The three programme options

28-Day Program: Stabilisation & Foundation

Best for: First-time seekers, mild to moderate addiction, those with time constraints, or as a stepping stone to longer treatment.

Our 28-day program provides immediate crisis intervention, medical detoxification, stabilisation, and the foundation for ongoing recovery. Clients experience safe, medically-supervised withdrawal management, initial psychological assessment, and introduction to therapeutic modalities. This program is ideal for individuals ready to commit to change and seeking rapid stabilisation in a luxury, supportive environment.

What's Included:

Suited for: Those needing rapid stabilisation, shorter timelines, or testing treatment commitment before a longer program.

60-Day Program: Healing & Integration

Best for: Moderate to severe addiction, complex mental health comorbidities, or those seeking deeper psychological work before returning home.

Our 60-day program builds on the foundation of the 28-day program, allowing for extended therapeutic work, trauma processing, and skill development. Clients progress through detoxification, stabilisation, and into deeper psychological healing. This duration enables meaningful behavioural change and the integration of new coping mechanisms into daily life.

What's Included (all 28-day features, plus):

Suited for: Those with deeper addiction histories, unresolved trauma, or co-occurring mental health conditions requiring thorough treatment.

90-Day Program: Comprehensive Recovery & Transformation

Best for: Severe addiction, multiple relapse attempts, complex trauma, chronic mental health conditions, or those prioritising long-term sustained recovery.

Our 90-day program is our flagship offering, designed for comprehensive healing and transformation. This extended duration allows for complete psychological restructuring, deep trauma resolution, and the development of a robust relapse prevention framework. Clients progress through all phases of treatment with time for genuine integration and preparation for sustained recovery in their home environment.

What's Included (all 60-day features, plus):

Suited for: Those committed to deep, lasting change; those with complex presentations; or anyone prioritising the highest probability of sustained recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know which program length is right for me?
We recommend the 90-day program for the best probability of sustained recovery, especially if you have a history of relapse or complex mental health needs. However, the right program depends on your addiction severity, trauma history, time availability, and personal commitment. We assess this during a confidential initial consultation. Many clients also start with 28 days and transition to extended treatment if they wish.
What happens after I finish my program?
Aftercare is integrated into your treatment from day one. You'll work with our aftercare coordinator to establish ongoing support in the UK—whether that's individual therapy, support groups, psychiatry, or structured coaching. Our 90-day program includes a 6-month virtual follow-up program. Alumni remain part of our community forever, with access to ongoing support and peer connection.
Is treatment confidential?
Absolutely. Your privacy and confidentiality are paramount. All clinical information is protected under strict privacy regulations and ethical standards. Your treatment details will not be shared with employers, family, or others without your explicit written consent—except where legally required (imminent harm to self or others).
What if I have co-occurring mental health conditions (depression, anxiety, bipolar, PTSD)?
Dual diagnosis (addiction + mental health conditions) is common and absolutely treatable. Our psychiatrists and psychologists specialise in integrated care. Mental health conditions are addressed alongside addiction treatment, with appropriate medication management and evidence-based therapy. Our 60 and 90-day programs provide time for genuine dual diagnosis treatment.
Can family members be involved in my treatment?
Yes, and we encourage it. Family involvement supports recovery. Our programs include family therapy consultations, and the 60 and 90-day programs feature dedicated family intensive weeks where relatives can participate in therapy, education, and reunion sessions. These can occur via video if international.
What happens if I'm struggling or want to leave early?
Lapses happen. Our clinical team is trained to address resistance, ambivalence, and difficulty without judgment. We work with you to identify what's contributing to the struggle. Leaving early significantly reduces the probability of sustained recovery, so we strongly encourage you to communicate with your therapist and team. We'll problem-solve together. That said, treatment is voluntary—no one is locked in—but we discuss the consequences and offer alternatives.
How do you manage withdrawal? Is it safe?
Medical detoxification is 24/7 supervised by nursing and medical staff. Depending on the substance, medications may be provided to ease withdrawal symptoms safely. Our approach prioritises comfort and safety. Withdrawals are uncomfortable but manageable with proper medical support. We've safely supported thousands of clients through this phase.
Do you use medication in treatment?
Yes, when clinically appropriate. Our psychiatrists prescribe medications for withdrawal management, mental health conditions (depression, anxiety, PTSD), or sleep—based on individual need and evidence-based practice. We do not substitute addiction with medication; rather, we use medication as one tool alongside therapy and lifestyle change. All medication use is discussed transparently with you.
What's the age range of clients? Do you treat older adults?
We welcome clients aged 18+. We have experience treating younger adults (18–30), mid-career professionals (30–55), and older adults seeking recovery. Treatment is tailored to life stage. We've successfully supported clients up to age 70+ who have shown genuine motivation for change.
How much does it cost, and what payment options do you offer?
28-day program: available on request | 60-day: available on request | 90-day: available on request. Payment can be made via bank transfer, credit card, or payment plan. We work with health insurance providers to maximise rebates where possible. Some UK health insurance policies (extras covers) include addiction treatment rebates. We'll help you navigate these options during the booking process.
