Rehab in Bristol: Your Options, Honestly

Drug and alcohol treatment in and around Bristol — public, private, and further afield.

If you're looking for drug or alcohol rehab in Bristol, the hardest part is often just working out where to start. There's no shortage of options — but they vary hugely in cost, waiting time, and what they actually offer. This page lays out what's realistically available to someone in Bristol and the South West, honestly, including where treatment further afield might suit you better.

Your options in Bristol

Broadly, treatment in and around Bristol falls into a few categories:

Why some people from Bristol travel for rehab

Staying local has real advantages — you're close to home and family. But for some people, that's exactly the problem. The same streets, the same crowd, the same triggers are still an hour away. Going somewhere genuinely removed — like our centre in Bali — takes all of that off the table for the length of the programme. There's also the privacy: no chance of running into someone you know at the clinic door, which matters a lot to professionals and anyone in the public eye. And the cost of a stay with us comes in well below premium the UK residential rehab.

If you're in crisis right now

If you or someone you love is in immediate danger, contact FRANK (0300 123 6600), Drinkline (0300 123 1110), Samaritans (116 123), or your GP. You don't have to wait for a rehab place to reach out.

About Bali Beginnings

We're a small drug and alcohol treatment centre in Uluwatu, Bali, working with people from the UK and beyond. No more than eight clients at a time — that cap is the whole point, because it's the only way you genuinely get to know someone and do the work properly. The clinical programme was designed by an Oxford-trained clinical psychologist and is run by a team of psychologists, doctors and recovery coaches, many in long-term recovery themselves. Two years of structured aftercare follows every client home. We're not for everyone, and we'll say so plainly — but for the people we're right for, it tends to work.
